Mutton Kofta

Ingredients of Mutton Kofta
π1/2 Kg mutton (finely minced)
π1 Egg
π2 tbsp chana (ground & sieved), roasted
π2 tsp coriander , chopped
π1 tbsp poppy seeds - soaked in water
π15-20 Garlic pods
π1 1/2 inch ginger
π4 onions , sliced
π4 tomatoes (skinned & pureed)
π2 tsp coriander powder
π1 tsp turmeric powder
πto taste Salt
π1 1/2 cups yogurt - whipped
π1 cup oil
πWater
π2 black cardamoms
π1 tsp whole pepper
π5-6 Cloves
π5 green cardamoms
π2 Bay leaves
π1 inch cinnamon stick
How to Make Mutton Kofta
πGrind the garlic, ginger and the poppy seeds together. Keep aside.
πHeat oil in a pan and add the onions to it.
πFry till they turn brown in color.
πAdd a little water to it and stir.
πIn another pan mix the whole spices and a cup of water and simmer for 10 minutes. Keep aside.
πIn the onion mixture add the ginger-garlic paste and the poppy seeds mixture and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
πAdd the coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
πAdd the chopped tomatoes and stir.
πIn the meantime, mix the egg, chana powder, coriander leaves and the mutton mince with salt.
πGrease hands with little oil and make small koftas and keep aside.
πAdd them to the onion mixture.
πStrain the water from the whole spices and add to the koftas.
πBring it to a boil. Cook for about five minutes and then add yogurt.
πReduce the heat and cook for about 45 minutes.
