Prawn Manchurian 

 


          Manchurian is Chinese dish which became very popular starter in India. There are many variations of Manchurian both in vegetarian & non-vegetarian space. Today I am sharing my personal favorite – Prawn Manchurian. It is a spicy delicious recipe where crispy fried prawns are mixed with sautéed onions and capsicum. Prawn Manchurian can be an appetizer or starter or also goes well with any fried rice, jeera rice, ghee rice or with noodles.




Ingredients

  • 10-12 Prawns or Shrimps
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Onions
  • 1 tbsp Capsicum
  • 1/2 tbsp Green chillies
  • 1/4 tbsp Garlic
  • 1/4 tbsp Ginger
  • 1/2 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric

Ingredients for Batter :

  • 1 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 1 tbsp All purpose Flour or Maida
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • water as needed

Ingredients for Sauce :

  • 1 tbsp Hot sauce
  • 2 tsp Soya Sauce 
  • 2 tsp Vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp Green Chilli Sauce  

How to make Prawn Manchurian

Mix all the sauce ingredients and set aside.




Take batter ingredients in a bowl, add water slowly and make it into a semi thick batter.





Dip each prawn in batter and fry till golden. It should be crispy. Drain onto some paper towel and set aside.




Now heat oil in a pan, add in garlic, ginger, chillies and onion and fry for a min.




In goes peppers and saute for 3 mins or so.




Add in sauce and cook till it is thick and glossy. Cook for few more mins till it is dried up.




Add in fried prawns and toss well.




Add in spring onions and toss well. Serve
